The CS4231 is an Mwave™
audio codec.
The CS4231 provides 16-bit audio for computer multimedia systems. The CS4231 includes stereo audio
converters and complete on chip filtering for record and
playback of 16-bit audio data, plus analog mixing and
programmable gain and attenuation are included to
provide a complete audio subsystem. Free high-performance Windows software drivers are available that
support all the CS4231 features including full duplex
transfers. The CS4231 is a pin compatible upgrade to
the CS4248 and AD1848 (PLCC Version).
